This is such a unique and historic property! Our 170+-year-old log cabin is located on one acre at the foot of Grandfather Mountain and is centrally located to just about everything in the area. The following towns or communities are just a 10-minute drive: Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Boone. While staying at The 1848 Cabin, you will have access to all amenities on our property. Outdoors in warmer seasons you can enjoy over an acre of our “cookie-sheet flat” land (a rarity in these mountains), with a large grassy area for yard games and a wooded area for exploring. There are plenty of chairs in the yard for relaxing, reading or chatting plus a fire pit to warm you on chilly nights.
The cabin is well-suited for adult travelers or families with children. Pets may be accepted on a case-by-case basis.
2 king beds, 1 twin bed, 1 full bath, 1 half bath, full kitchen, washer and dryer, and fire pit (starter firewood provided). Sleeps 5.
NOTE: We also offer rental of The Tiny House in the Trees, which is about 35 yards from the cabin. There is a chance that guests will be staying there while you occupy the cabin. The two homes have separate parking and firepit areas.
